The Pain that Remains

Even after letting go, there is a brokenness that remains in us. Like pieces of a broken heart lodged inside, we feel it for such a long time that it seems like it will never make its way out. Every wound leaves a scar and every unresolved moment leaves the remainders of a wish. Every time we remember that wish, the pain returns - hopefully less than the time before.
